Children amaze me. One of my favorite little guys, Evan, wrote this. His mommy read it to me once on the phone and I have been pestering her for it in writing for a long time. Evan was 4 when he wrote this and I think they are good words to live by! It is even more special to me because I can hear his sweet little voice saying and meaning the words.
Thank you Evan for being so wise beyond your years!
King of Kindness
By Evan
I can make a difference by teaching kindness to other kids. If someone pushes, I will not push back.
Every day I give compliments about people’s outside and inside. An outside compliment is “I like your shirt”. An inside compliment is, “You are a nice kid.” Give at least one compliment a day. Giving compliments reminds other kids how to be kind. You may not receive a compliment back. You should not shake someone and say “Give me a compliment back.” That would not be good.
Always use nice words when you are speaking like, excuse me, please and thank you. I try to show patience and kindness, even when other kids are impatient and rude.
Use a kind voice, and it only is a joke if everyone is laughing. If everyone is not laughing, it is teasing, and teasing is not allowed.
If everyone is kind, everyone will be happy and smile.
