Drew & Maddy

Mom and I have been talking a very long time about photographing her children, I’m so glad we finally did!   Letting time get by and three rain dates didn’t stop us this time!!!

I’m sure it wasn’t Drew’s favorite day but he did great!   I asked him who is best friend was and he almost looked at me like I was crazy to even wonder.  Maddy of course.  I could just squeeze his cheeks.  What a dream!

Maddy wasn’t too sure of me at first but she had plenty of time to figure me out.  I had a shooting problem that day.  Mom had lots of dresses and I had a few film cards with me.  I just couldn’t stop.   If I posted all the pics of Maddy that I love you might think I have a problem.  She is just one of those deep souls that I love to dig deep into.    Maddy and her mommy look just like a Hollywood actress, her mommy has the southern accent too.  Can you guess?

Portraits on the Porch - Sweet Libby

libby.jpg

My GREAT Aunt Libby to be exact!  Libby is 91 and recently lost her home in the Cedar Rapids flood.   I enjoyed sitting on my porch (which has the perfect sweet light!!!!) photographing Libby.  She and my grandmother were dear friends, they looked alike and they both loved to paint, sew, knit etc.  Every gift from these two special women was handmade and meant so much to me.   I vividly remember the doll bed Libby and Uncle Lester made me.  The fabric was blue and white check and it held my Baby Tender Love perfectly.    I cry every Christmas eve at church during Silent Night wishing for the days of being surrounded  by the generations of my family at Great Grandma’s organ.

I hope Libby didn’t see the tears running down my face as a photographed her.   It was a very special moment for me.    I think I’ll make a habit of this.

Do I look like my mommy or daddy?

Miss Gretta, it won’t matter if you look like mommy and think like daddy or think like mommy and look like daddy.  You have got it made little girl with your sweet, smart adorable parents!!!

Bring your content baby to an ordering appointment and I’ll find it very hard to resist shooting a ‘few’ more!

Charlie & Lillie

Meet Lillie, sweet Charlie’s cousin.   Their mommies are sisters and two people very dear to me!    Lillie was the 5th newborn for these sisters that I have photographed.    I’m thrilled that they both had girls 10 days apart!

 More of Lillie to come!

Double gross!

Cole is all boy.  We were camping this weekend and the boys had fun finding caterpillers for my nephew’s bug box.

Lesson - Never ride your bike on gravel!  :  )
