Brit, Ashley and Mikki

In 2001 I was working on a benefit concert and needed a partner.  I had met Kelly one time at a celebration dinner for a for a huuuuge innovation in Maytag washer technology (that makes me sad).   I wanted my projec to be a success and I knew Kelly was the perfect person to help me do that.  So now, almost 10 years later, Kelly is still my friend and I have had the honor of photographing her girls’ senior pictures.

I’ve grown a wee bit since then but the images and the memories are very precious to me.

Brit was my first muse.  She would do anything I wanted and we played several times.  This picture was taken in my living room, that makes me smile!!!   I love the emotion in the Evanescence song Bring Me to Life then into My Immortal.  We were thinking about that during whole session.  Love you Brit and the beautiful woman you have become.  I NEED to photograph you again.  Seriously.  Oh we also had normal pics not just moody.

This image I have had a few seniors for next year tell me they love and want to try something dark like that.  It made me smile, it is 6 years old ;  )   I still love it too.  Listen to the song, it fits.

Here is Ashley.  She let me do my thing too!  We had ‘normal’ pictures too but with her I was feeling very much Cinderella.  The strength and power of the line ‘In my own little corner, in my own little chair, I can be whatever I want to be’ inspired me to photograph Ashley’s homecoming dress and her crown.   Ashley is a nurse now, getting married and choosing Iowa as her home. *hint hint to the rest of the family*

Then of course Mikki who is a 2010 grad.  I’ve posted these before but now fun to see with her sisters.  And Mikki, I still love that Sinful tshirt.  :  )
