First Stella -  I remember when my neighbor said to me – even before I was a photographer – how adorable she thought her children were when they had lost their front teeth.  She wanted to do a photo session but it just didn’t feel worthy of a ‘whole’ one.  That comment lingered and my clients know if their child looses their front teeth, they had better get over for at few pictures on the porch.  So here is Miss Stella who was totally enjoying the hole!

A month later when I am doing pictures of Charlie and Max (her brothers), they were doing the same thing!

Out of her 4 year old little mouth she said to me ‘well honkin’ horns’.   I about died laughing.  It was the cutest thing, both what she said, how she said it and she is 4.  I’m smiling as I type it. 

Harper came back for round two (or more) of gourd shopping……giving me both sayings again, making me smile again.  This time we looked through them together and found a little guy that deserved a bath and a photoshoot.  Here he is with my little pose helper……

Should you be worried that I am done with the gourds….don’t fret…..

Here is Owen with his Mommy (check out her painting link below – amazing stuff), who is obviously so in love with him.  It pretty much melts my heart and makes it cry that I don’t have the pictures to remind me of this precious feeling a momma has for her baby…sigh…….

  

 

I must post this, not the happiest of expressions but shows own amazing Owen’s eyes are. 

 

Newton grads my recognize that this is Gretchen.  She is an amazing artist.  I just don’t get it, how can you see something in your brain and then have it talk to your hand and come out of it?  I am so jealous of anyone who can draw and paint.  Thank God for cameras!!!   Anyway, here is a link to some of Gretchen’s amazing work.   I love love love it!!!

Ava was along for her brother’s 1 year picturs – some family and Ava too but the focus was to make sure we got Owen.  Uh oh…..  Ava got out of the car in a white dress, her white sandles, front teeth missing (you know I love that), big healing scar from a bike wreck and holding a plastic toy wand.  I watched her while I talked to her mom – I was watching because am I really ever in the conversation or am I always dreaming of the picture?  lol  Maybe I was doing both.   We went to our location and as she got out of the car, again she had the wand.  I encouraged her to bring it, it didn’t take much.  While Owen was warming up, I took Ava to a place where I knew the light was dancing all by herself.  I could tell she was waiting for a partner, maybe a toothless princess?  I think so.  I asked her to get to a certain spot and dance for me.  My heart lept as she twisted and turned and swung her glittery plastic wand in the air.  Remember, I come from a home of GI Joe etc so anything girlie makes me happy ; )

Here is Ava, in her own world and not worrying about me.  No cheese, no begging and pleading to smile to twisting and turning to pose perfectly, no promising of a toy or a sucker, just Ava being Ava. 

 

After finishing some of the pictures I was supposed to be doing, I lured the dancing pricess back to her stage.  This time she didn’t come alone, her prince joined her to dance.  In addition to the prince, we had a full orchestra (aka Momma) ‘singing’ the instrument parts and Owen in the audience.

 

Just in case you are wondering….this dance of the princess with her prince, it wasn’t just for me.   The prince dances like this at home with his princess.  Pretty good prince I’d say!

Jaxton’s momma Mia is even more beautiful than when I did her senior pictures.  Love love love the short sassy hair on her.  It is so much fun to see the seniors when they are into their 20s, so beautiful and so grown up.  Mia ~ you are more precious than before!!!

Seriously I can’t get enough of this.  I LOVE it!!!!

Cadence at 3 ~ now!   When Cadence and her mommy came to order pictures she looked at me with those eyes and was quick to tell me….”Amy, when you took my pictures at *** (grandparent’s farm) I kept stepping on those pokey things.”  Thistles.  She has this little sassy look that you gotta love.  She later told me how she is negociating with her daddy on getting a horse.  Candence will be someone, I promise!!

   Stay tuned.  A baby bump is next and we can’t wait to meet ***** !!!!
