Is this too much skin?

I was taking this photograph to use as part of a thank you note.  I was worried we were showing too much of K’s skin and yes she does have her shirt on.  Her neighbor was over and I asked his opinion, I figured a man would tell me to do it or not.   I would show him in the camera and he would usually say it was still ok.  He said ‘if anyone asks you just tell them it was approved by Robert ET’.   We laughed and decided it was ok, not too much skin.

This is the picture we made for Bob.  Oh, and by the way, he is in his 80s!!!   We all love him!

Counting down the days….

We are always ready for the Iowa State Fair!    This is one of my favorite pics of my boys.  Bret in his white t-shirt and Red Wing work boots, Cole’s hat,  the boys looking sooooo short,   I wonder what they are headed off to eat?   Cookies in a cup, fried cheese curds,  cinnamon roll, chocolate covered cheesecake, mini donuts, corn dog.  OMG. I’m going to work out a bit extra so I can at least have one guilt free day at the fair.   Hurry up and get here already!

Oh and of course, my favorite story of the year, my friend Cat Rickers was the artist for the Iowa Fair game, she is so amazing!!!!

Missing teeth, no way!

When the children that I photographed as newborns start loosing their teeth I feel kinda funny.  It certainly can’t be, I’ve not been doing this long enough.  I guess I have,  7 years in a couple of day – I’ll blog more about that.

So here is Corbin, I’ll be photographing him in a couple of days because his front teeth are missing.  I remember his newborn pics like it was yesterday – I sound like the momma   :  )

Cat asks below – yes, same boy as my blog header.  This was last October so he’s even bigger now.  He’ll be showing me some big gums soon!!!

My phone buddy!!!

I talk to Courtney, alot.  Really, alot.   Many times per day sometimes.  Right now, I haven’t talked to her since Saturday and I’m getting a little jittery, ha.   If I need to work something out, Courtney is the girl.  She is very very wise.   She was my client in Newton and then, same sad story, had to move because of Maytag.  She keeps getting further away but we keep talking and keep taking pictures.

I got to photograph her babies and see them at their new house.   Here we are after a marathon evening and then next day of shooting.  We were all tired.

I love seeing my photographs on my friend’s walls.   Here are a couple from Courtney’s house.   I love the crazy big wall.  The kids love it, they show it off, they are so proud and feel so loved.  There are other walls, not nearly as full but we have more photographs to order and more to take.  My favorite wall I just can’t show.  They are some of my favorite pics, ever.  If you are ever here, ask and I’ll show you.  You’ll see them, you’ll want them too.  We’ll need to schedule for next May day, it will be worth the wait.

When I look at this wall, I remember every session, every crazy moment of chasing three kids around, every joyful moment.  They do too!
