Zoe is 1

I love watching babies grow up.  I love seeing the same expression on a 1 year old as I saw in their newborn photographs.   I loved Zoe’s lips and eyes the first time I photographed her.  At 1, they are still as yummy as before!!!

Watch Miss Zoe grow!

I love this photograph.  I did the minute I took it and I still do.  I love light.  I love watching and seeing light.  I love how the sun is hitting her little toes.  I love that her uncle is behind me making me laugh so hard that it still brings me to giggles right now.

Zoe is 1!  I love her little Uggs and her Gap dresses.  Perfect for a November baby trying to sneak outdoor pictures in chilly weather.  Happy Birthday Zoe!  I appreaciate all the effort your mommy makes to get you to me.  I hope one day soon I can photograph you with a cousin!  yipppeeeee

Oh and it was Miss Zoe’s bunny that captured my attention during the end of our session.  I hope one day to get to photograph them together.  Bunny is the perfect picture bunny : )

Love the Time

I continue to do photography and design work for my friend david.    His 1998 release was ready for a facelift and this is the new cover.   This is a crazy one and even though I designed it,  I see something different each time I look at it.    I love his original handwriting of the lyrics blended in the background.   I have another one I’ll post shortly.

A precious reminder for me!

In my workflow process, I edit images and present them for ordering.    The decisions are made and the order is placed.  In between all that I have shot many other sessions and done art work on many other images.  I love when I got back into a session and have my breath thaken away.  I had that happen yesterday.

As a mom, I have many pictures of my children reminding me how they looked.  What I don’t have are images of me with them reminding me how I felt about them.  I love my teenage boys now, love them like crazy.    But, there is something special about a baby and how you feel about them.  That kinda feeling where you fall so very deeply in love with them so that you can still love them when they are teenagers.  : )    I regret not having that emotion captured in me so I could remember those days a little more clearly.  That love is amazing.  That love is grace.  That love is worth remembering.   I’m going to do a better job at capturing it.  I must.

Miss Hayden Grace

I’m totally in love with Hayden’s name.    I am imagining her as a spunky 3 year old with long blond hair.  Hayden will fit her perfectly!

What do you see?

mud

Of course you see a muddy tire.   I see something different.  I feel something different.

On a sunny November morning we set off to do the yearly pictures of this family’s children.  Our schedules are crazy so the best time was to sneak out  during the week and capture their ever changing faces.  To get to our location we had to use 4 wheel drive and get a bit muddy.  We had a blast.   We laughed. We giggled.  We were scared.  We enjoyed the stolen day from school.  We enjoyed the stollen warmth that October robbed from us.  We enjoyed being a little bit naughty.  One last day to throw some sticks.  One last day to throw some rocks.   I love days like that.  I beamed.  The whole day.

With one hour left, my last bit of  Thanksgiving.
