He sleeps…..
Meet Mr M. He has sweet full lips like his mommy, great hair with the making of a cowlick in the middle of his forehead like his daddy, cute little muscles, sweet little nursing blister on his upper lip and the ability to stay awake for far longer than he ever had! Mom and Dad made great efforts to see me, closing their practice for a day and driving from Iowa City. Thanks guys, I enjoyed all the time we got to chat and you answering all my questions! (Love being around drs!!).
The final results - a perfect sleeping cozy baby. He was worth it!
Sweet Brody
Brody’s grandma called early on the day of his scheduled shoot. Instead of coming to see me he had been Life Flighted to Blank in Des Moines. Although they still aren’t 100% sure of the cause of his problem, he seems to be doing great now.
I was excited to photograph Brody as I am any newborn. But, there was something special about this little boy. He was 22 inches long and weighed 12lbs 8 oz, I know all moms are thinking ‘ouch’. Yes, a big baby but you know what, he didn’t seem big at all to me. He had a little bit of chub but not what you would think. He is just perfect. Yes, momma had gestational diabetes but is doing great now.
I hate it when I feel old! This isn’t the first one of my classmates to be a grandpa but it hurts every time. Goodness we haven’t been out of school that long have we. I guess we have. : (
I wanted to post this picture so you see his size in relation to his parents, not big at all.
I don’t know if you can see his little lip blisters or not. I love those, you know he has spent some time eating.

Henry take 2
Edited to add - I just have to add this. I had a mom in my studio today that asked if I really had a guy like ‘that’ in my studio. Almost like ‘Did you really take that?’ or ‘Is he really that um well shaped?’ I laughed. Harley all that working out paid off!!!
I posted some pictures of Henry but during my server problems last week it got deleted. So, I’ll do some more!
Henry’s daddy Harley is a real trooper! My studio was hot the day we photographed Henry, about the opposite of when we did their engagements pics. It was the Saturday of Tulip Time a few years ago, I think we started when it was 30ish degrees. Average that with my hot studio and it is a comforable 70ish.
I adore many things about Heny, including his momma!!!!. Check out his amazing chin. He has character alread!!!

I have a client/friend on bedrest waiting for twins. This is just a little hug/squeeze from me reminding you what is to come! I can’t wait to meeting them and see Miss A too!
