My GREAT Aunt Libby to be exact!  Libby is 91 and recently lost her home in the Cedar Rapids flood.   I enjoyed sitting on my porch (which has the perfect sweet light!!!!) photographing Libby.  She and my grandmother were dear friends, they looked alike and they both loved to paint, sew, knit etc.  Every gift from these two special women was handmade and meant so much to me.   I vividly remember the doll bed Libby and Uncle Lester made me.  The fabric was blue and white check and it held my Baby Tender Love perfectly.    I cry every Christmas eve at church during Silent Night wishing for the days of being surrounded  by the generations of my family at Great Grandma’s organ.

I hope Libby didn’t see the tears running down my face as a photographed her.   It was a very special moment for me.    I think I’ll make a habit of this.

Lauren I love you, Amy.

Cecilia Luke Oh my gosh!!!!! Is it not amazing how grandma has not changed a bit? I also think of Christmas eve at GREAT Aunt Bernices and how we use to get slinky’s and send them down the steps and the bathroom upstairs, I hated to use it because it was sooo dark up there. It is a hard but wonderful life to be in the military. We get to live in an beautiful country but it is sometimes lonely at holidays with no family close.
We will be home summer of 2009 and I would love to get together and just socialize and have you take family photos. Your pictures are beautiful.
I hope all is well for you and your family.
Cecilia
