Today’s the day!

Treasure hunter Mel Fisher started each new day by announcing Today’s the day.   For 16 years Mel searched for the Spanish shipwreck Atocha near Key West.

As I was traveling to my session today I was thinking about that.  In the craziness of life it is just easy to get tired.  But, what if each day before I shoot I think the same way as Mel.   Today’s the day that I touch someone’s heart with my photography.  Today’s the day that I shoot for my soul and be so honored by the client that trusts my soul.  Today’s the day that I find that image that knocks my socks off.  Today’s the day that I preserved something so beautiful for someone that they can’t imagine their life without it.  Today’s the day I help make someone feel beautiful who has never felt that way before. Today could be that day.  I just have to make sure of it.

And because I can’t just blog without a pic or two…….

I loved the antenae in this image.  I think it is God inviting us all to church or to Him.  Maybe the message is for me.

I watched this guy in a fish market for some time.  (If you look carefully on the left sideof the image you can see the old fashioned scale).  Beautiful natural light came streaming down from the ceiling, his hat sheltering his weathered face.  I wondered about him.  I wondered about his cigarette holder.  I totally loved that and couldn’t keep my lens to myself.  Not sure if he saw my interest or that of my little guy who can be seen looking at him too.
