Never waste a moment

I was talking via email to a friend who was fishing off the coast of Miami.   I was working at my desk, he was fishing.   I was irritated.  He would send pictures and I would get more irritated : )   After one of the pictures he said this

‘I hung a chart  and a picture like this in my office 10 years ago as I was going through my chemo, I swore that if I survived I would never waste a moment’

His comment resinated with me.  He learned the hard way.   He is a survivor and he is a fighter.   A fighter not for himself but a fighter for others.     He is amazing.

Since I haven’t photographed him or the people and things that mean the most to him, I asked him to send me some pics.   He sent me the pics and I sent him the collage.

Never waste a moment….   I couldn’t get that out of my mind.

Denise Brown Alan inspires me…to be all that I can be. He was very kind in Louisville, and the weekend at Duke…walked the survivor walk with me. He has taught me a lot about what really matters in life. Alan does not just talk the talk…He Walks the Walk!! Alan thank you…for all YOU do to make a difference in this horrible club we belong!
