of the story…..
A couple of years ago I saw a slide show of a photographer I met at a conference. She had been working out and was celebrating her new confidence. I was envious. I thought about that slide show for well over a year. I wished I could do that. When I learned that the artist of that slideshow would be in Iowa in November, I timidly asked him if he would photograph me. He kindly said ‘yes’ and even acted like he was excited about it. Kirk photographs mostly high school senior girls, girls a um lot younger than me.
I picked Kirk up from the airport and got 4 hours of his precious time. I learned soooo many things and I hope each of those will make me a much better photographer. One thing I know for sure, I love being photographed. I’m afraid Kirk has made a monster out of me, ha ha! All planning, preparation, shopping, talking, working out, dreaming, etc, it was all worth it, I can’t wait to do it again.
Many I have talked to said they could never do it. I didn’t think I could. I hope that if you ever dream of this, I could inspire you. Do it, you’ll never regret it!
Here are a couple more. These are Kirk’s images and my editing. Kirk will edit some for me also and then I will post more. Seriously not trying to be all about me, totally trying to inspire you to maybe follow your dream, whatever it may be.
To answer a few common questions –
Yes, they are me. Yes, I do even were makeup sometimes. The retouching is my normal retouch procedure. The only ‘pushing’ in I did was a bit on my back fat. giggling…… Yes, I have a lot more, some I can’t post. Yes, you may see them if you are here.
