Friendship

‘Thank you for being part of my life.  Thank you for calling me a friend.’   What if we all said that a little more often?    Just think how the receiver would feel.  (First song by the way.)

I remember the day david said ‘Friendship’.  My mind raced and thought and wondered and dreamed.  I photograph david by himself, not with a bunch of friends.  How was I going to show friendship?

When I tought of friendship I thought of scrapbooks or photo albums or Facebook albums : ) filled with images that not only showed friendship but felt friendship.  I thought of an old leather album filled with pictures.  The album hopefully would smell of age telling me of the beauty of friendships that stand the test of time.    Luckily, I can’t see david’s eyes rolling when I first give him my ideas : )

Months later, when I hold the CD in my hand, I dream of how it could really feel and smell.    When I open it, it is exactly what I imagined.   I see friendship, I feel friendship.  I loved working on this project.  The images aren’t mine.  I didn’t have my usual self induced perfectionism about the images, I cared only about how the images felt.    I think you can tell how much fun I had.

The CD is a perfect gift if you are looking for something for a friend, one that could fit in an old smelly leather book or in a brand new Facebook album.   Thank you God for beautiful friendships.

A big shout out to my dear friend Lynn.  She proofs and reproofs and reproofs for me.  There is no anxiety in creating something that will be printed on 1000s of covers,  reprints aren’t allowable. Yikes!!!   She also came to my recue when I said I needed screws for the name plate on the cover.  She found some cool screws on her furniture and photographed them for me.   They worked perfectly.

The process is fun, I’ve learned more than I could have ever imagined.

‘Thank you for being part of my life.  Thank you for calling me a friend.’

Lynn I looked up “true friend/friendship” in the dictionary – the definition was “Amy D” ♥
