Open

I traveled to Virgina this week to honor my friend david.  I’ve known david for over 9 years, photographed him, designed 17+ CDs and been on ‘staff’ for most of those years.  I know for sure he has seen the end of my lens more than any one person.

The world lost an amazing writer and musician and I lost my friend.   In this great loss, I can not and will not forget what I found.   Lynn, Susan, Kelly, Elaine, Craig, Mackenzie, Kelly, Andy, Abbie, Brant, Tyler, Jace,  Bob, Lisa, Brian, Alan, Lanette, Chuck, Jeanie and on and on and on…..

We were tie-dye clad (although missing a green/white bandana in this pic) for david’s service.

We visited this bridge many times for shoots and a tv interview.  This particular time, david’s cousin Lynn and my bestie was on light duty.  The results included album artwork and laughter beyond control.  It was a great day!

The laugh always came with a tip of his head downward.    This was a big tip, lol.   I photographed david in so many places, it is difficult not to remember those moments when I am there again.   Every time I was at this location, I’d send him a picture text like I’m just sure he’d want to know I was there again.

In my whole shooting career, I’ve been stopped by the police twice.  The first time ever, I was with david.  Here is the location….

You loved the world, we loved you back.

No resting in peace…. how about cause a little trouble in peace?    How about joke in peace?  How about tease in peace?   How about sing in peace?  How about laugh in peace?  How about drink coffee in peace?   How about love in peace?  How about dance in peace?  Forget the RIP boss, dance and love and sing and laugh and tease in peace.   I believe it.

Susan Sanning Amy, Sending you prayers for continued opening and for discovering new ways in which your memories may bring blessings your way. May your memories of David and the gifts he shared with you continue to shape your art and your life. Most of all continue to find meaning in the chaotic stillness of life.

Cops – Founder” Cops for something that we need help with everyday” Amy – Beautiful as always. Sometimes word are too much. People just need to look into the photos and see beyond the forest and truly in the beautiful of within the trees. Amy – We and Central Iowa and friends thank God each day for talented and gifted individuals WHO OPEN OUR EYES AND HEAVY HEARTS and let tough people in tough job experience just what God needs them to do, to move out of his way and let him show them.
