When I photographed Alex’s senior pictures last summer, she was still 16. Yikes. She is a very beautiful and mature 16 year old.
The first time I photographed Alex I think she was 13. Her momma ordered this picture as a 16×16 inch square. When she picked it up, I told her it wasn’t big enough (a wee bit cocky aren’t I?). She needed it as a 20×30 and when she got home and realized it, I would trade it in. The 16×16 was on my studio walls for a long time. Everyone would walk by it and tell me how beatiful Alex and Nate’s eyes were. I agreed. The 20×30 is still in their family room. It is simple and beautiful and although they have grown, when photography is simple and about the people not the clothes, it is timeless.
My guilty pleasure: strawberry pie.. and justin bieber.

Five random things: i love swimming, i run track and cross country, i like to make bracelets, i wish i lived on a beach, and i love spending time with my family.
When I look at an image, I remember being in that spot and sometimes I remember what we were talking about. This is one of my very favorite light spots. I always enjoy the look on a client’s face when I put them here. I have a frigajillion memories at this very place where the light does her dance for me. I’m smiling more than you can imagine right now. So many people who I love have stood in this very spot. Can you tell how precious it is to me?
I love the pool : ) I do believe we had an audience this night. Sometimes I work better that way, lol.
