We headed to our roots for a little shoot recently!!!!
When I hear her say “My Aunt Amy” I almost forget who she is talking about. Really, after all these years you would think I would remember I was an aunt but sometimes that just makes me feel too adult. 21 years ago, sometimes this is the little peanut was in an infant carrier that I was in charge of. People would assume I was her momma. I didn’t correct them, ever ; )
I convinced her it had been too long since she had been behind my lens….we took care of it.
The first two pictures are for her Uncle Bret. Lauren has had Baby Shelly since they both were babies ; ) Baby Shelly’s voice came alive through Lauren and we all loved it very much. We haven’t seen her for awhile but always ask. She came along with us and we found my grandparent’s former porch to be the perfect place for this part of our shoot. I admit I might have been crying when I took these, it was a very precious place for us……
I had two goals….shoot at the Maid-Rite…..
And….try to capture the old Quaker Oats sign on the chance that Pepsi thinks for some crazy reason they need to remove it : (((((( For those that know what Cedar Rapids smells like, for me it is comfort, for others, not so much.
Lauren heads of to photography school this week. : ((((( I am happy for her, sad for me. One good thing, I hope she learns some things and passes them on!!!
