More of my milkweed love….

After I saw my cloud angel, I drove some gravel roads looking for a new milkweed subject.    It was terribly windy when I found a few just waiting for me.  I would hold my breath and click the shutter hoping that I could get something in focus.  As I walked around and photographed from all the angles, in a few, I wondered if the angel had followed me here.

BL - No doubt…the angel followed you! Seriously…get this stuff to the Adirondacks! They’d sell! Awesomely raw beauty! Bob

Always the farmer….

While I was shooting…the farmer and his family, I saw him taking a break in the field.  Seeing him be, always the farmer, totally distracted my camera and drew it to him.  The beans were beautiful and were preparing to be harvested.

The farmer wasn’t checking out their beuty…what interested me was that he was checking to see if they were ready.  He opened up the pods and tested their ‘doneness’ by biting them.  I just thought it was very cool and I was very happy that my camera followed him to the field.

I was listening over and over to a song that my friend david wrote about an angel.  I needed to go take a picture to match the song so I just immersed myself in it to really feel it.   I was going to go on my picture hunt Saturday afternoon.  I left the house but first stopped by our pumkin patch where Bret and the boys would be plowing.  Old tractor and old plow – those pictures will come later.

I was looking for light to photograph with and noticed a patch of bright blue sky I hadn’t yet seen.  I looked up and my jaw dropped.  An angel.   It was like a gift from God.  I had been feeling sad and thinking about david and his family and listening to the song all day.  Then, this beautiful gift.  I couldn’t and still can’t believe it.  My words don’t even feel like they are as meaningful as it was.  Just know, it was.

Shooting, shooting and more shooting!

Thank you to the people who have been asking if my blog is broken ; )  it is not.   I’ve been shooting a little bit – or a lotta bit!!!    I have had the time of my life this fall, shooting while my clients are changing.  It sort of became a game for me to see what I might normally pass up.
